If you ask rangers in national parks where bears are present, they will tell you don't try to run because human cannot out run bear. The right move is stand still and guarded but no provke the bear. If underattack, lay face down and use hands to cover your face to protect eyes. Every years there are bear attacks, and some surviors have been hurt quit seriously, like losing part of the face, and eyes.
